Music Listening Exercise
In class, we listened to songs from artists including Dick Dale, Edith Piaf, Bernard Herrmann, and Greg Allman.
While listening, we were instructed to simply draw what we felt; not what we heard, but what we felt.
Below are my personal favorites.
Edith Piaf
Vince Guaraldi - Rain, Rain Go Away
Ry Cooder - Maria La O
Etta James - Loving You More Every Day
From these designs, we were assigned to make some sort of design or product using one of the images.
I like to think of the design inspired by Edith Piaf to be free-flowing, like a pool of water. With that in mind, why not apply the design to a pool liner type of item. Using this idea, I recreated the design and stuck with an entirely blue theme. Over the image, I used an app called Procreate to give the allusion of water. It shows how the design would look if it really were the design as the bottom of the pool or on the pool walls.
